A balanced approach

The human brain is amazingly resilient and powerful. Our minds can learn, and relearn behaviors, thoughts, and patterns.

I believe that therapy is a place to explore and gain insight into how our early childhood experiences impact our later relationships and functioning. I also believe it is important to build skills and strategies to manage our present-day difficulties.

Rather than one school of thought, my approach is customized for you. I am trained in both psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches, which allows me to tailor treatment to your specific needs. You are unique and special and I believe your treatment should be as well.

My hope is that therapy will both help you understand why you are feeling the way you do as well as help you to feel better.

Where we begin

Your first visit

We start with a free 15-minute consultation to see whether we would be a good fit to work together. If we decide to move forward and begin therapy, our first session will focus on sharing information so I can fully understand what brings you to therapy and also identify what goals we will target during our work together. This session is very collaborative. I invite you to ask questions you may have about me, my approach, and what your therapy will look like.

What to expect

Follow up Visits

Each following session will last between 50-55 minutes. We will likely start out meeting weekly, but session frequency can be adjusted as needed throughout our work together, whether that be moving to a biweekly schedule or meeting more than once per week.

Payment

I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance and private pay. I am considered an out-of-network provider for other insurances. If your insurance covers out-of-network services, I can provide you with a monthly invoice (often referred to as a “superbill”) for you to submit for reimbursement.
